Julie Chen Moonves will host the popular reality show that has been a summer sensation Big Brother. The show will return to CBS on 5 August for its second season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, in which she served as both moderator as well as host. The true passion of her life was writing. In fact, she received an Emmy. In addition, she won an Emmy for hosting and outstanding television talkshow. The Talk examines contemporary events by looking through the eyes of five hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News' early morning news show The Early Show for a decade. Before that she was the CBS Morning News anchor and the host of The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo following the events of the 9/11 attacks. She went down and interviewed the father who led hijackers to an eye-opening, interesting interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers including the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Queen Rania of Jordan as well as former Defence Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves covered the Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning News program. The show featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Paula Abdul. Prior to The Early Show he was the CBS owned station reporter in New York City, WCBS. Her previous jobs include working as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) and a desk-assistant for the ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) as well as completing her final year of school at the University of Southern California. She started her career as an assistant at ABC News, working on the late-night program Nightline with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains one of Moonves' journalism idols. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker for Anatomy of a Riot (the Columbia du-Pont-winning Primetime Special that examined what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
